Where is the power in lighting our lamps? This short story tells us what can happen with only one light.
In a small village of one hundred houses, a single lamp was burning.
A neighbor went to this house to light his lamp. He took it home.
One of his neighbors came by to light his lamp.
This process continued until every lamp was lit and the entire village was bright.
We change the world by shining our lights. We can only offer our lamp light to others and hope they will light their lamps as well. However, they can only light their lamps when they are ready. Slowly but surely, all lamps will be lit and we will know the true meaning of heaven on earth – as above, so below.
Be patient and loving toward those who do not yet understand their light. Their time will come. Light your lamp. Shine brightly this holiday season and always.
