Most of us remember the song Tie a Yellow Ribbon ‘Round the Ole Oak Tree by Tony Orlando. In the song, the singer tells us that he got into trouble and went to prison. Now, he is on his way home and he needs to know if his girl still wants him. If she does, she will tie a yellow ribbon around the oak tree to let him know. Of course, when he gets home, he sees a hundred yellow ribbons.

I fill my life by finding joy in the simplest of things, like my new tea kettle. Locating a good quality kettle under two quarts was not easy. For more than a year, I tried every store and website I could find and came up empty. A few weeks ago, three kettles that met my criteria appeared on Amazon. I was so happy.

A small frog lived in a well. It had lived there for a long time. The frog was born and brought up there. It was all he knew. One day, another frog that lived in the sea came upon the well. The frog in the well asked the newcomer, “Where do come from?” The traveler replied, “I am from the sea.”

The word racism has changed its definition and perception over the last 2-3 decades. This is important because we cannot heal racism if we do not understand what it really is and what creates it.

We would love for keeping the faith to always be easy but we know it is not. Our human experience presents many challenges and difficult times. However, as evolving spiritual masters we need to remember who we are and keep persevering through what we create.
